Adidas have a rich and detailed history in the sports fashion market. One of the leading brands across the world, they product cool, comfortable sports wear which have been worn by celebrities and fashion conscious males since the late 80’s and 90’s. Popularised during the early hip hop movement by Run DMC, Adidas Original trainers have always been a massive player in the street fashion market. They wore their adidas shoes in their own distinctive style with no laces and the tongue sticking right out- a style that has been copied by the fashion world and linked back to the hip-hop scene ever since. We love the Originals offshoot that Adidas launched because it seemed to leave behind the pure sporty (chav?) type of garments of old and brought an edge and contemporary feel to their work. They used to be the brand of choice for your Dad to lie around the house in, but now with bright/bold prints and colours and a bit of flair, they should be a staple in any self respecting man’s closet.
Adidas Originals have come back very strong this season which probably has something to do with the brand celebrating their 60th Anniversary this year. Press releases from Adidas tell the story:

The campaign is set against the backdrop of a house party hosting an electric mix of people from the worlds of music, fashion and sport. Born in sport heritage but living in contemporary lifestyles, adidas Originals is unique in that it unites and touches diverse pockets of popular culture around the world.”
“adidas Originals’ biggest strength and point of difference is the ability of the Trefoil brand to be a relevant part of people’s lives – in whatever lifestyle they have – skater, rocker, artist, musician, sneakerhead, sports fan whatever,” explained Hermann Deininger, CMO adidas Sport Style Division. “This is a campaign that celebrates all of them and offers an open invitation to consumers to come and join in.”
