As we mentioned last week on this blog, Fred Perry seems to have been very busy collaborating with some amazing designers recently. First he released exclusive new versions of his traditional Harrington Jacket which were designed by Peter Jensen and now he has been lending his expertise to Belgian super designer RAF Simons. This is the second season of the Raf Simons and Fred Perry collaboration and the range consists of 25 vibrant pieces inspired by a West African colour palette (how exciting!). Each piece is a clever re-working of a classic Fred Perry style with raffia open knits and hybrid polo shirts with waist darts for a slimmer silhouette.
As we told you in our 2009 Fashion Forecasts, neons and bright colour palettes are still all the rage this year and so these two are right on the pulse of what is happening NOW. But what else would you expect from designers with such a tradition as these. I am going to show you images of most of the collection in the full post but I must say that I absolutely LOVE this collection and think it beats last years hands down. The designs look very Fred Perry traditional and well cut, but there is the element of Simons in there with the funky colour ways and subtle eccentricity of the pieces. I would recommend you take a look inside and pick up one of your favourites today!
