I had to change my original post today because as I write this there is only 3 of these Exclusive Mackintosh jackets left in stock at MyWardrobe. One in a Small, Large and XL. Sophia at MyWardrobe let me know about it this morning because she knows I love my readers and am always trying to get them exclusive designs, colourways and items to add to their wardrobe. I was going to feature this item after my Mac collection preview at the end of the week, but this is obviously time limited now so you need to get your hands on it quick if you want one!
Like the title describes this is a total exclusive Mackintosh Hunter Riding Coat in a Navy blue. I featured it in one of my look books recently as a statement item that can be worn in the Modern Dandy look or that true British Gentleman style. It is a statement jacket in every sense of the word which just oozes quality and style from it – it retails at £615 – but like I have been trying to ram home recently, some items are worth the investment as you know they will make ANY outfit come alive, and can be worn multiple times throughout multiple seasons.
Here are the details from MyWardrobe direct:
“The navy Hunter riding coat by Mackintosh has been given some special treatment just for my-wardrobe this autumn. The contrast plaid lining that features under the collar and on the buggy has been made exclusively for us – you won’t be able to find this design anywhere else so it’s a great time to invest – and a Mackintosh really is a great investment! With a 200 year heritage, this brand forms one of the cornerstones of British fashion. Every coat maker undertakes a three year apprenticeship to ensure the highest design specifications possible. On this piece you’ll find straps inside the bottom of the coat to put your legs through when riding a scooter – definitely one for the man about town. It’s also worth bearing in mind that the sizing comes up a little larger than average as it’s designed to be worn over a suit – it really is the ultimate waterproof!”
So there you go, you just KNOW this item will be of an amazing standard – I mean 3 years apprenticeship in order to just be able to make one of them?! This item is truly hand-crafted by experts.
Ways to Rock It
Obviously reading above it is made in a larger cut than normal so you can throw it on over a suit. I love the idea of this because it gives you even more layering options. I would mix with a nice black or grey suit underneath in order to give the greatest contrast between the beautiful bold blue, especially if you are going to be wearing it to work everyday. Otherwise in a relaxed formal outfit you can wear your slim dark jeans, throw on a shirt or polo, then a blazer over the top before then layering on the waterproof! How much more of a gentleman could you get with a beautiful blazer and Mac – plus all those layers will look great and work so well in the cold weather this winter.
