Fashionbeans always aims to be at the forefront of fashion and so when we heard about the launch of a newer than new Topman store launching in Bath, myself and Jacob Kamara did as any self respecting fashion followers would, cleared our schedules, grabbed my camera and headed on down.
With some of the same interior design points as the New York Store, the new Topman/Topshop Bath store features one thing very few stores do, a menswear department on the ground floor! Yes, you did read that right, we’ve been let free to roam on the ground floor for once instead of being banished to the upper or lower levels! But logistics aside, the store is very attractive and features a great range of products. Admittedly, it’s not the Oxford Circus store but the Bath branch offers some of the brands best ranges including a Topman LTD section and a very well stocked shoe department.
After having an initial browse around the store, I was introduced to the very fashionable and very friendly head stylists who had travelled down from the London flagship store to dispense their advice to the people of Bath. I asked them both to pick out their 3 favourite pieces from the store and, after a few minutes of them running around and me feeling like the host of supermarket sweep, this is what they came up with.
Viv Chose to team some chinos (THE trouser of the season) with a Topman LTD Tee and quirky necklace.
Terry chose to team some casual skinny jeans and a loose hanging vest with a smart jacket – a perfect mix of formal and casual wear.

By this time the store was getting a bit busier and so I decided (as promised on our Twitter) that it was time to get out my camera and start taking some shots of the style savvy shoppers of Bath. Here’s the cream of the crop:
Throughout the evening the Topman Stylists were offering free consultations for those wanting to improve their wardrobe or find out how to pull off this seasons’ hottest looks and FashionBeans was, as ever, on hand to give our opinion. Here’s what we thought of the before and after looks:
Henry’s relaxed style was cool [below left] but there was definitely room for improvement to make the look that little bit more fashion forward.
I really love what Viv’s done with this look. The white tee and rolled up shorts keep the outfit looking fresh and simple, whilst the finer details and cool accessories give it a more fashionable edge – a perfect summer outfit.
Steve’s outfit was quite plain and didn’t really stand out or say anything about his personality. [below left]
Terry’s given Steve a more updated, on trend look which really suits him well. Denim and preppy are both major trends this season and this outfit incorporates them both. Plus, I really love the shoes, I was rather close to buying them myself!
A store and a brand that is very much fashioning the way for the UK high street, Topman offers some great pieces that are stylish and durable, not to mention reasonably priced. So with that in mind, let’s hope they continue going from strength to strength, here’s to many more stores to come!
