B-side by Walé AW11 Lookbook

Walé Adeyemi is becoming known as one of the UK’s most recognised and successful fashion designers – a man who was recently awarded an MBE for his services to fashion, and has dressed the likes of Usher, Alicia Keys, Mos Def, and the Beckham’s, to name a few. He is also the creative genius behind clothing label ‘B-side’, and has released an autumn/winter 2011 lookbook to accompany his latest menswear collection.

The collection itself “blends high end tailoring with directional street wear, creating completely refreshing urban elegance.” Walé Adeyemi’s signature style aims to push boundaries without comprising the garments wearability.

The lookbook focuses on showcasing looks which can take you from day to night, with garments benefiting from subtle tailoring and detailing.

The collection itself is made up of everything from Oxford shirts and coloured chinos for a slimmer fit and smarter aesthetic, to sweats and oversized hoodies that definitely have more of an urban street wear edge.

One of the standout pieces for us here at the FashionBeans office is the Palo Fur Revear Gilet. It is a sophisticated take on the current gilet trend and a real statement piece that is not only perfect for creating interesting layered outfits, but also incorporates another key AW11 texture trend: shearling. The Gilet is constructed from a wool mix, comes in a beige tone and the main body is lined with black faux fur, which is also used for the accent trims.
