New in at Crooked Tongues this week is the Johnny version of the classic Converse Jack Purcell badminton shoe.
The trainer itself has undergone a major transformation, with the main body of the shoe coming away from the traditional plain canvas upper. Instead, these trainers have been modernised with current en vogue materials – featuring a mix of tweed uppers and leather side overlay panels.
However, one feature that remains true to the original design is the signature ‘smile’ across the front toe.
The colourful tweed upper sits upon a bold white rubber sole; these two factors combining to produce a real stand out piece of footwear – coloured plaid is not something you see everyday on trainers! Attention to detail has also not been neglected with the incorporating of contrast stitch detailing, making a true feature of it rather than trying to blend it in.
Other finer details which really set this shoe apart from others on the market at the moment are the brown leather laces and embossed leather branding to the tongue – both of which add to the appeal and sense of quality of the shoe.
Retailing at just £76 we think this is one unique piece of footwear that would have pride of place amongst your footwear collection.
