Inverallan Knitwear
As the cold nights and frosty mornings have recently begun to creep upon us, the ominous threat of last year’s winter repeating itself creates a nightmare prospect. Instead of whimpering over the frost, this year why not prepare yourself with a traditional, hand knitted, Inverallan Scottish cardigan?
Inverallan are a traditional British company who pride themselves on their long established home made knitting style, used for years to create quality pullovers for fishermen. Another trademark of the Inverallan brand is that each individual item is personally signed, on the label, by the knitter.
This small company has made the bold move away from their renowned “made to measure” service – delivered from their base near Stirling – to offer a new range of top quality, affordable knitwear to the masses. Whilst the new range will no longer be bespoke, Inverallan have invested in additional expert knitters so that they will continue to offer their trademark handmade style.
The designs are predictably chunky, heavy in weight and plain in colour. Despite this, I do feel that they are a prime example of a classic item being brought into a modern day style. This ethos is clearly dominating current fashion, even down to hair cuts like the side parting and slicks backs returning.
I am sure this traditional company’s venture into the world of fashion will pay off. The quality of their Cardigans, jumpers, hats and scarves will prove to be as an alluring combination of essential function and style for fashionable city goers to keep cosy this winter.
