Belgium fashion designer Kris Van Assche has dropped a new hi-top Jodhpur trainer for his fall 2011 collection. As with the rest of his footwear collections it follows the usual monochromatic colour scheme of black and white.
This trainer has to be one of our favourite picks here at FashionBeans from this season as the simplicity and minimal design is almost like a work of art. Clean, swooping lines manage to turn a somewhat plain hi-top into something that is so distinctive in an over crowded market; creating a statement piece without even trying – the definition of ‘effortless cool’.
The lace-less trainer consists of a white outsole, with the black upper made from supple leather. The only real focal point is the wrap around Velcro fastening which incorporates the logo. In keeping with the rest of the design, this is embossed on so subtlety it’s hard to distinguish in most lights. Again, this just shows the thought and consideration that went into designing this shoe – no detailing, however small, detracts from the simplicity of the overall design.
