Levi’s Vintage Clothing: 1930 Fair Isle Wool Sweater
It’s the season for sweaters and this is one that is sure to keep you warm, whilst still maintaining a contemporary yet fashionable style to call your own. Emerging from the archive collection of Levi’s Vintage Clothing line is the 1930 Fair Isle Wool Sweater.
The design of the sweater is inspired by the regal and gentlemanly style of the Duke of Windsor, who reigned for 326 days in England. The sweater is made of 100 percent wool and features the subtly simplistic yet fashionable 1930s Fair Isle pattern in a mix of blue, beige and brown. The Fair Isle pattern originates from an island in the country of Scotland of the same name, and the technique used to design the pattern was originally created there in the 1800s.
The colour palette coordinates well to produce a true vintage effect, making the jumper an effortless statement piece that has some character and history. This 1930 Fair Isle wool sweater is a perfect fusion of fashion from the 1930s and modern day fashion of the 20th century. For a stripped back and classic look, try pairing with complimentary coloured camel cords and let the sweater make a statement on its own.
