Maison Martin Margiela has released an innovative design for the upcoming spring/summer 2012 season, in the form of a painted loafer.
This inventive style aims to fuse high fashion with handmade materials and techniques.
The shoe is available in white and follows a classic loafer silhouette. Benefiting from being hand painted, it creates an almost aged vintage feel to the overall aesthetic. This also means that no two pairs will be identical – making each one truly unique and solely individual to you.
Although the outer appearance may look slightly rough, they are extremely comfortable – the inside being lined in soft leather and also incorporating a thick insole.
The white colour way makes them ideal for the spring/summer months, when they can be paired with pastel colours for some Riviera Chic, or nautical inspired reds and blues. These loafers would look great paired with chinos or tailored shorts, and are great alternative to the increasingly popular deck shoe styles.
