Since the autumn/winter catwalk shows – where major fashion houses such as D&G, Balmain and J Crew included parka jackets in their collections – we have noticed a dramatic rise in the number of parkas available on the market from both premium designers and high street retailers. This latest release from Marc by Marc Jacobs is another welcome addition.
This khaki coloured hooded parka jacket is made from 100% cotton, which makes it extremely light weight. It comes with a detachable hood, zipped and button fastening, side pockets and two large front flapped pockets. It also features an adjustable drawstring waist which helps to define your silhouette brilliantly; leave it loose for an oversized look that contrasts well against skinny/slim jeans, or nip it in tight to your waist in order to create a fitted and slim line appearance.
One unique feature that we noticed on this particular model was the subtle reference to the animal print trend that is prevalent at the moment – Marc Jacobs integrating a subtle black leopard print lining. The end result: A smart and stylish parka on the outside, with just a hint of playfulness on the inside.
Not only is this parka jacket extremely practical – offering the wearer great protection against adverse autumn/winter weather conditions – it is also very versatile and can be dressed up or down to suit.
