Mt Rainier Design Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection:
Japanese brand Mt.Rainier – known for producing outdoor apparel based on classic North American designs from the 60s, 70s and 80s – have released their AW11 clothing collection just in time for the winter season.
Every piece is expertly made using fabrics such as 60/40 (which used to be the key weather resistant fabric back in the 60s/70s – consisting of 60% cotton and 40% nylon), for a water resistant yet breathable garment.
The collection consists of jackets, vests and bags – all of which are available in a range of colour ways.
One of our favourite pieces from the collection is the 80s Down Jacket – as the name implies it is a a padded parka inspired by a 1980s piece. Like the rest of the collection it has been constructed using a 60/40 nylon and cotton assembly and features a premium down fill, which is perfect for keeping the warmth in.
Other features include: A detachable hood with leather toggles, two large zip closure hand warmer pockets, adjustable Velcro cuff and hem, as well as a contrasting coloured lining.
Due to the 60/40 construction used to produce this range, it is definitely going to protect you from the adverse weather conditions this season. But be warned that such an expertly crafted, high quality collection does come with a price tag that reflects this.
