Nigel Cabourn has released his autumn/winter 2011 collection. The collection focuses on outerwear and knitwear, seeing popular designs re-released – such as the US Clip Sweat – along with new additions to the range – such as the 1940s Double Breasted Jacket – as well as some limited edition outerwear from his recent collaboration with Eddie Bauer.
Nigel Cabourn and Eddie are no strangers to each other, having already collaborated on the Canadian Vest which we introduced you to back in September. Following on from that success, they have teamed up once again to produce two stand out pieces: the US Clip Geddes Jacket and the Skyliner Jacket.
In fact, the two garments from the new collection that really caught our attention here at FashionBeans were the US Clip Geddes Jacket and the 1940s Double Breasted Jacket.
The US Clip jacket hits many of this season’s key trends; such as quilting, shearling and tweed detailing, whilst it will definitely keep you warm with its goose down filled padding – a perfect fusion of both style and function. Other key details include: main body constructed from a natural waxed cotton twill with a lambswool shearling collar, two front hand warmer pockets, detachable hood, two-way talon zip placket and contrast shoulder, arm and pocket detailing.
The 1940s Double Breasted Jacket stood out because we just can’t seem to get enough of the double breasted trend at the moment. It screams sophistication and this jacket doesn’t disappoint. It combines 1940s tailoring with a premium trend fabric – Harris Tweed – allowing it to blend perfectly into Heritage inspired outfits that have been so popular over the last few months. Key details include a cotton lining, contrasting leather elbow patches and various front flap pockets.
