Primark and Selfridges are joining forces to bring customers a unique shopping experience where they will be able to shop designer labels such as Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Primark all at the same time.
Primark – for the very first time – will open a 1,000 sq ft concession in Selfridges Birmingham and Selfridges Manchester.
The collection will consist of 100 pieces, which includes chunky fair-isle knits, baseball jackets and chinos to name a few. 10% of the range will be exclusive products only available at Selfridges – with the focus primarily on menswear, footwear and accessories at first. They then hope to develop the collection and expand into womenswear and accessories if it proves a success.
For Selfridges this isn’t the first collaboration it has under its belt, as it has already combined high street fashion with high end brands – namely with its partnership with well known brands such as Topshop and Topman, as well as its newest ventures with H&M and Cheap Monday.
The price structure aims to replicate Primarks signature prices with products starting at just £2.50 for t-shirts. With it being an edited selection of pieces, it should take away much of the ‘hunting and rummaging’ that you need to do at the large Primark stores. With the comfortable Selfridges shopping experience, you should be able to find those key basics or trend pieces quickly and easily – at prices that everyone can afford.
The highly anticipated collaboration is bound to be a success as both brands have been top performers at opposite ends of the retail spectrum. Can budget and premium get along in harmony? Let us know what you think of the look book produced below…
