Vault by Vans designer Taka Hayashi has collaborated with handmade Billykirk, to create a capsule collection for autumn/winter 2011.
Leather accessories specialists Billykirk were created by Chris and Kirk Bray back in 1999, and now their range includes bags, belts, shoes and wallets – to name but a few.
The new capsule collection is made up of two footwear styles – the Derby TH LX and the Sk8-Hi TH LX – as well as a laptop flight bag.
The No.207 padded laptop flight bag is an extremely sleek and stylish bag that has been handmade, so you can expect only the highest quality and attention to detail in the production process. The bag is two tone in colour, with the upper body consisting of navy leather and the bottom made up of an olive shade. Other details include: brown leather handles that are fully adjustable, a one man compartment with interior zip pocket and a Swiss Riri zipper.
With regard to the footwear collection, our favourite model is the Sk8-Hi TH LX. The reason we like it is due to the clever use of both colour and materials, which combine in order to help create a really eye catching piece of footwear. Materials utilised include: Full grain leather, leather lined washed canvas and a premium suede.
The boot is made up of tan, olive and navy tones that are all housed on top of the Vans traditional chunky outer sole. The consideration of colours does not stop there however, as the boot also includes coloured leather laces, which really stand out against the dark navy and tan shades that they integrate with. It is noticeable that every detail has been thoroughly thought out, and even the finer touches – such as the contrasting stitching around the sole – haven’t been neglected.
The collection is due to hit Vault by Vans retailers worldwide early December 2011.
