A Bathing Ape x Sunpocket Sunglasses
Popular foldable sunglasses brand Sunpocket has joined forces with Japanese street wear brand A Bathing Ape to create a limited edition pair of sunglasses for the spring/summer 2012 season.
The sunglasses in question combine the well-loved foldable frames with BAPE’s trade mark military inspired aesthetic.
Although BAPE had total control over the design, the brand have chosen to keep it clean and simple – shunning their signature camouflage print and instead opting to utilise it on accompanying translucent carry case.
Opting for a military olive green colour way will allow the glasses o a wider audience than a camo version. Granted, these shades won’t appeal as much to the masses as classic black or tortoiseshell frames do, but olive green is much more versatile than camouflage, and will be able to transcend the current prints and patterns trend that is set to be prominent throughout 2012.
The branding follows typical form, with the sunpocket logo located to the left hand side of the sunglasses, and The Bathing Ape logo placed on the right.
Set to be released before the end of June 2012, The Sunpocket x BAPE sunglasses will be sold at selected BAPE stores around the world.
