adidas Originals 2012 Spring/Summer TGB Tailored Sport Collection
With the Olympic Games drawing ever closer, it was only a matter of time before sport apparel collections infiltrated the market in order to commemorate (and capitalise on) the event. With this in mind, we would like to introduce you to the latest adidas Originals spring/summer 2012 range; the Tailored Team GB Sports Collection.
Having sponsored Team GB since back in 1984, the iconic sportwear brand are once again showing their pride for our national team with the release of this latest collection.
Seeking inspiration from past archive silhouettes, the brand have combined traditional sportswear garments with more tailored menswear pieces – giving them an up to date twist and creating a range which has an underlying preppy appeal.
The lookbook was photographed by Cameron Mc.Nee and styled by The Sunday Times style fashion features editor, and menswear stylist, Michael Hennegan. When questioned about the lookbook, Michael Hennegan went on to say:
“It was interesting to me to take a range from a brand with such a prestigious sporting background as adidas, and position it in a very different arena. The preppy look and feel is perfect for our British Summertime. We wanted to give it this sophisticated flavour whilst staying true to the sports heritage of the brand.”
The collection consists of garments that you would expect – such as outerwear, polo shirts, shorts and sweats – with a colour palette that represents Great Britain; red, white and blue taking centre stage.
