Alexander McQueen brings their sartorial elegance to Savile Row, opening its first EVER dedicated menswear store.
The envisioning of the highly anticipated menswear flagship store, located at the prestigious 9 Savile Row, London came from new creative director Sarah Burton, together with the help of David Collins Studio – who is also responsible for the new women’s store concept.
The flagship is set to provide the largest offering of the brand’s ready-to-wear menswear line, with plans to develop an in-house bespoke tailoring service in the basement. This would become a welcome and valuable addition to the store, as well as being particularly apt – tailoring has always been one factor which has been at the back bone of the label, without even mentioning the illustrious history and tradition of their location.
The store itself is stunning, but we wouldn’t expect anything less from the forward thinking and progressive brand, whose late founder was a true showman with a flair for the dramatic.
Inside, the store adheres to the refined aesthetic the brand are renowned for, yet manages to incorporate a seamless blend of old and new; mixing contemporary features such as glass panelling, modern lighting and marble finishes with the original facade, parquet flooring and plaster wall panels. This store is certainly not one to be missed!
