Having trawled through masses of latest autumn/winter arrivals to hit high street retailers, there was one piece that really caught our eye – the Hilliard Shirt from AllSaints.
Constructed from a 100% cotton yard dye check, the Hilliard Shirt features simple yet effective detailing, coming in the form of contrasting coloured corduroy segments. The incorporation of the corduroy detailing immediately captured our attention, as it was not only segregated to the top collar and placket (like previous versions) but also runs along the shoulder yoke.
The cotton and corduroy material combination not only gives this piece a great textural aesthetic, but it is also an appropriate material choice to showcase the seasonal transition. With Corduroy having become a major trend last AW11 – with everything from full corduroy construction, to garments featuring minimal corduroy detailing – the tough and durable heritage fabric looks set to yet again become a key trend for AW12.
Effortless to style, the Hilliard shirt will be easy to integrate within your current wardrobe, helping to add a tactile element to any of your existing looks.
