AllSaints have re-vamped and re-designed the vintage biker jacket for the iPhone generation, utilising classic biker details while updating the look with a asymmetric front fastening, exposed zip pockets and a buckle throat strap under the collar. The jacket also comes in a slim fitting cut, ensuring a much more contemporary, fitted silhouette.
The ‘Standen’ is crafted from wax coated goat skins, which have been heavily crushed and tumbled. To emphasise the vintage appeal of the piece, the seams have also been hand burnished to give them a unique, worn-in appearance.
Styling wise, if you think jeans with a black leather jacket will bring you just too close to the 1950s Grease monkey stereotype for comfort, white trousers are an excellent alternative. I’d like to buy a jacket like this but find it hard to match with the rest of my outfit without looking like a biker type, I seem to go for black jeans, etc. do you have any suggestions? (Btw re the model pics above, I don’t think shorts & those stupid sandals are a good look, especially at this time of year)
