Baracuta SS12 Preview
Although it has not even been released yet, Baracuta have given us a preview of their new spring/summer 2012 collection, entitled “The Curator”.
The new range has drawn inspiration from Baracuta’s 75 year heritage, producing a collection based upon the great achievements within their long and decorated history. “The Curator” covers 8 decades of outerwear – from industrial North West of England, to the Ivy League style of the fifties and sixties, to modern day outdoor clothing.
The collection sees a colour palette of Denim Blue, Cornell Red, Golden Virginia and Vintage Whites being utilised on a variety of garments from outerwear to shirts and chinos.
After seeing the sneak preview images, one piece that will always stand out is the iconic Harrington jacket. Baracuta are the original designers of the Harrington, and they continue to produce the classic season after season – modifying it only slightly each time. This “Curators Choice” Harrington features the G9 shape and is made using the finest English cloth – a lightweight wool/linen blend with wax coating.
Drawing inspiration from Ivy League styles, the collection sees check variations and ticking stripes being utilised on casual summer shirts, as well as their signature button down collars.
