Barbour Spring/Summer 2012 Collection
The new spring/summer 2012 collection from world renowned British outdoor clothing expert Barbour has just landed at online retailer End Clothing.
Barbour, who have been a firm favourite in the outerwear industry for over 100 years, aim to deliver functional, durable yet timeless collections – and with their latest instalment they have yet again delivered just that!
Their spring/summer 12 collection includes an array of different styles and cuts. Although they are known for their country/outdoor jackets, the range does not just focus on outerwear, but also includes a wide variety of knitwear, shirts and accessories.
The new outerwear range features classic styles – such as the Beaufort, Liddesdale and US Military jackets – but has given them a contemporary twist.
One of the styles that immediately caught our eye was the Masthead Jacket. This new silhouette was created by combining Barbour’s current style influences with more classic military outdoor jackets. The jacket utilises waxed cotton for the construction of the main body – Barbour’s waxed cotton jackets becoming somewhat of a trademark for the brand.
The jacket itself combines functionality with authentic styling. It features almost endless detailing such as: a Tartan lining; various sized pockets to the front; adjustable zip away hood which also includes leather adjusters; a zip closure hidden beneath four metal clasp closures, all of which are distressed in order to add to the vintage feel of the jacket.
The collection as a whole is highly wearable with a focus on timeless styling. However, there is the occasional playful piece (such as the Jackdaw bird print shirt) mixed in – showcasing Barbour’s light hearted side.
