Resembling a silhouette that is more commonly associated with footwear giants Converse, English brand Belstaff has created their Jair High Top Plimsoll.
There is no getting away from the fact that the Jair High Top Plimsoll does look similar to Converse’s ‘As Two Fold Hi’ style – even though it comes without Converse’s reasonable price bracket. However, we can only assume that Belstaff’s slightly higher price tag of £159 is justified through quality of materials and attention to detail.
These grey suede plimsolls feature perforated Airtex detailing, which is noticeable over the whole main body of the trainer and should provide breath-ability and comfort during the warmer spring/summer season. This main body sits upon a worn and somewhat aged looking sole and toe cap – perfect for vintage lovers or those who like their trainers ‘worn in’ rather than bright white.
Other key detailing that adds to the overall finish of the product includes a buckled section to the heel and a metal brand plaque threaded through its harmonising coloured laces. It’s these small extra details and considered touches that make these hi-tops stand out from the crowd and add a sense of luxury to a traditionally casual footwear style.
