Ben Sherman Qewy Leather Brogues
The sun’s cheeky appearance over the last few days and the mysterious desertion of anything remotely resembling a cloud, has left me day dreaming. I’m staring out the windows during dreary lectures and you know what – my feet are boiling hot. So, as I mentally drift off into the sky, I imagine my perfect brogue for spring… and remarkably, it looks a lot like the Qewy Brogue from Ben Sherman.
Not too round but not too pointed, the shape of this example is spot on. Personally, I put my trust in tan when it comes to spring because it’s not so dark – black and brown can feel a little formal and attract those pesky UV rays. The leather of this shoe has that worn look, giving you a beaten and loved appearance that adds character to its casual appeal – the waxed laces match the darker detailing to further fool the admiring public (“He must have owned those classics for years – way before they ever became so on trend!”)
However, the feature I most adore about this particular brogue is the bit that no one is ever going to see – the sole. Detail allows the men to stand out from the boys and the silhouette of our beloved United Kingdom placed under the ball of your foot, along with the corner of the Union Jack peeking from the heel, illustrates attention from the Mod-outfitter to get excited about.
Gentleman, when the time arrives to don the shorts, I’ll be rolling up the sleeves on my t-shirt, searching for my straw trilby and leaving the socks at home with a beautiful pair of brogues to show off.
Looking good isn’t important, it’s everything.

You know you’re doing alright if Fashion Beans writes about something you own. Great looking shoes although if you walk for long stretches you’ll feel it in the bridge of your feet the next day.
Nice touch ending with the Ben Sherman ‘mantra’ or whatever it is you’d call it.
Mark,
It is a fabulous quote from the man himself – so good I like to sign off all my articles with it! Thank you for the feedback on how it is to actually own the shoe. Information like this is so important and hard to find when making the decision to buy or not to buy.
Regards,
Ben
Hi Ben,
You’re more than welcome. I’m hoping its just the case of needing to wear these in a bit. Easily the smartest pair of shoes I’ve owned.
