It’s fair to say that Blood Brother is a brand on its way up – no mean feat in these times, as emerging fashion brands are few and far between. What started off as a cool t-shirt outfit has now grown into a brand offering a full apparel collection, with a cool flagship store in East London’s Rivington Street.
Usually, the brand offers completely unique pieces devoid of the usual fast trend look of the rest of the menswear labels it competes with. However, having said that, sometimes a trend item comes along that hits the balance just right and becomes an instant classic. This season Blood Brother (and us for that matter) believes that item is the varsity jacket.
With this in mind, they have teamed up with Selfridges (the jacket is exclusive to Selfridges and the Blood Brother flagship store) to provide their irreverent and edgy take on the classic bomber. Available in three colour options, each is a piece of highly crafted apparel that pays tribute to the brand’s growing expertise in all things menswear.
There is a home in any wardrobe for a contrast sleeve this season, and when the leather is of such quality it would be rude not to invest in a time-honoured traditional college jacket. We love the directional edge the silver sleeve gives but if in doubt play it safe with the solid black option.
All are priced at £350 and are available at the Blood Brother store and Selfridges from the 29th of October 2012.
