Brian Wood Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection
Taking the current all black and leather trends to a more sinister level, Brian Wood showcases his AW12 capsule collection in ‘Reborn Suicide’. Effortlessly displaying the bold and heavy aesthetic adopted within this lookbook, model Hugo Pinto brings the ideal balance of boyish charm and no nonsense attitude required to wear such pieces.
Working within a classic palette of grey, black and white, Wood’s designs are both modern and interesting. A heavy use of contrasting textures and prints are displayed throughout by way of quirky layering. Squares and checks appear to be a featured pattern, with much of the detailing also utilising lines and sharp blocks.
A range of influences can be identified in the collection’s outerwear. Sporty jackets appear alongside tailored double breasted coats, whilst leather looks and a heavy parka also make an appearance.
Stand out pieces include the pocket contrast shirt and contrast check shirt. Another notable piece is the leather jacket with concertina detailing on the neckline. With a contemporary shape and fastening method, this piece is perfect for subtly nodding to this hugely current trend.
With a timeless palette and an altogether original display of design and detailing, this collection boasts both trend awareness and some seriously tempting pieces…
