Converse First String JP Johnny Hi
Reworking one of their most popular and iconic styles – The Jack Purcell Johnny – Converse have released their First String JP Johnny silhouette for spring/summer 2012.
Coming in both hi-top and low form, the trainers have been reworked for the current market – with a particular emphasis being placed on mixing high quality materials and attention to detail.
Constructed from stripe cotton canvas uppers, no Jack Purcell Johnny silhouette would be complete without featuring the recognisable ‘smile’ detail to the front of the toecap.
The canvas uppers also include a opaque Rip-Stop overlay panel to each side, and a triple banded grosgrain stripe which runs down the back of the heel.
One subtle feature that we think provides the finishing touch, and takes this style to the next level, is with the inclusion of the tortoiseshell eyelets. Small detailing such as this gives these new styles an understated sense of elegance that you don’t often see in men’s trainers.
Personally we have to admit these are some of our favourite styles to come from Converse this year (so far!) Their lightweight canvas upper makes them ideal for SS12, whilst the stripe detailing gives them a seasonal appropriate nautical feel. Retailing at just £65-£69 (dependent upon style), it makes them all the more appealing.
You can get your hands on both the Hi and Ox low over at End Clothing now.
