Dr. Martens – Spring 2012 Collection
Focusing their attention upon a more refined aesthetic, Dr.Martens have recently released a selection of footwear styles from their spring 2012 range, which make up the ‘Windsor’ collection.
Consisting of classic and highly popular footwear silhouettes – such as brogues, tasseled loafers, Derbies and not forgetting the instantly recognisable 8 eye boot – the collection is one of their best to date.
The Windsor range utilises quite a subdued colour palette, which is dominated by cream and tan highlights. These are predominantly used for feature accents, with sole and stitch detailing incorporating both shades.
Each individual style is stunning in their own right, but it was the Barrett tasseled loafers which got the majority vote here in the FashionBeans office. This particular type of footwear is fast becoming a modern wardrobe essential, with Juraj recently shining the spotlight on them in his dedicated article. With this in mind, we wont harp on about why you need this style in your wardrobe, instead focusing on what makes this loafer so distinct.
Available in black or tan, and featuring an eye catching white leather tassel, this contemporary style is versatile enough to be dressed up or down dependant on occasion. The bulky masculine aesthetic mixed with the soft supple leather construction gives the loafer a unique edge, whilst the sturdy contrasting coloured sole is hard wearing enough to offer substantial protection against the elements as you strut your stuff.
