The new spring/summer 2012 men’s accessories collection from Belgium fashion designer Dries Van Noten has been a widely sought after within the industry, and it now available to buy this week over at London boutique LN-CC.
This latest collection is comprised of wallets, skinny ties, belts and silk scarves. However, it was the skinny ties which really caught our attention here at the FashionBeans office.
These silk ties are available in three different colour ways of navy, sand or aubergine, and each features a different pattern – either incorporating horizontal block stripes or two thin vertical lines down one side.
From the quick straw poll we held in the office, our overall favourite style is the thin vertical line design – due to the overall simplicity. The main body of the tie is constructed in a single block colour (either aubergine or sand) with two subtle vertical panels (in navy and black) running down the entire length of the tie. On the underside, the two vertical panel designs are still apparent but towards the bottom it also features a diagonal pattern.
These skinny ties are perfect for spring/summer, with the thin silk construction making them lightweight and much more suitable in warmer weather. They also benefit from featuring a flat end instead of the pointed version found on traditional tie silhouettes, creating a much more contemporary feel; perfect for young professionals or those who like to stand out subtly.
