Father’s Day Shopping Guide At Selfridges.com
Well it’s that time of year again… Father’s Day. If you’re anything like me, then you will find it easy to slip into old habits when shopping for a gift for your Dad on Father’s Day – going into the same old shops and purchasing nostalgic compilation albums or books he’ll never read. So this year I have decided to treat my old man to something a bit more special, and Selfridges have provided a welcome shopping guide to make it a little easier for me.
On their website, Selfridges have conveniently split their Father’s Day edit into three main paternal archetypes: ‘The Style Maverick’, ‘The Connoisseur’ and ‘The Technophile’. For the fashion-forward fathers out there, the ‘Style Maverick’ edit features stylish apparel and accessories to ensure he is always looking his best. My top picks include Givenchy’s bird of paradise printed shirt, a Tailor of Old Bond Street grooming box in brown leather and an Acne tourmaline wallet.
For the man who has expensive taste and loves the finer things in life, ‘The Connoisseur’ edit features luxury fragrances, liquors and even bath robes. A little Hugh Hefner, but in a good way. Items of note from this pick include Bunnahabhain 25 year old scotch whisky and a Mulberry leather briefcase.
For the gadget-freaks, the ‘Technophile’ edit features the best in boy’s toys and technological treats, including a Samsung full-HD LED television and Bowers & Wilkins headphones. Selfridges have made it a dream to go Father’s Day shopping, now I just need to start saving up for that Givenchy shirt…
