Luxury Italian fashion house Fendi has given traditionally classic garments a contemporary overhaul within their latest spring/summer 2013 collection – with each individual piece featuring its own distinct twist.
The brand has not only employed the use of pattern and colour in order to re-vamp these classic pieces but has also utilised unique material combinations.
Whilst suiting, shirts and trousers are constructed from more traditional materials, such as nylons and cottons, the statement pieces come in the form of outerwear, shorts and footwear – with all having undergone more dramatic makeovers in fabrics such as leather, eel and crocodile skin!
This material and texture choice not only gives the range an added sense of luxury, but it also shows the brands desire not to conform to tradition or ‘norms’ – stepping out of the box and producing an array of distinct garments.
The colour palette follows suit, with more traditional colour ways such as navy and taupe being incorporated onto classic silhouettes, whilst stunningly rich green hues having been used to give a punch of colour and modern edge to other garments.
The key print trend of the SS12 season looks set to continue for the next few seasons, with the brand having included a range of eye catching patterned suits and other printed apparel.
Finally, one thing you cant help but notice in this collection is the individual assortment of footwear pieces on offer – with vibrant colour ways, material combinations and cut-outs all having been incorporated onto a wide range of footwear silhouettes.
