Dr. Martens have teamed up with British heritage brand Gloverall to create a one-off clothing and footwear collection, exclusively for this winter.
Gloverall are renowned for creating the first Duffle coat in 1951 – a winter favourite for men and women, designed by Harold and Freda Morris. As we all know, Dr. Martens have a history in durable workwear, so it makes complete sense for the two brands to connect and create an exciting new line that combines the best of both. The collection is relatively small, containing only a few items, but each is of the highest quality.
Using a fabric which Gloverall are calling ‘C-cloth’, both the shoes and boots are based on the iconic Dr. Martens 1460 and 1461 designs. Refined detailing gives the footwear a British heritage feel and each shoe has a leather strip at the back that contrasts with the duffle-like material used everywhere else.
The interior of the footwear contains a colourful, checked lining and each shoe is available in sand and burgundy, or black:
With more harsh weather coming our way, the collection provides us with a stylish yet practical coat – a cross between a Duffle and a donkey jacket. The theme of the footwear continues with the coat, which utilises C-cloth and leather that softens with age to give it a Dr. Martens twist.
Again, it is available in either sand and burgundy, or plain black:
The collection really is quite simple but has an edge nevertheless. Both Dr. Martens and Gloverall are continuously creating new trends and styling men all over the UK, and together have developed a sensible wardrobe that looks and feels great.
The collection is available to buy now from Dr. Martens.
