Haglöfs Cirque Jacket
Technical outwear is becoming more and more fashionable. This acceptance, however, is paired with the relative rarity of seeing a well worn practical outdoor jacket. Naturally, now is the time to embrace and invest in on-trend pieces which are also heinously practical – introducing Haglöfs and their Cirque Jacket.
While some may scoff that such an efficient ‘bit of kit’ should be the preserve of hikers and uncool Dads, may I remind you of the recently released book: Dads Are The Original Hipsters (Pub. Chronicle Books).
Technical jackets are becoming ever more prevalent and Haglöfs are the pinnacle. A Swedish company which has been producing high level outdoor equipment for almost 100 years, these guys know what they are doing. There’s no point investing in a subtle jacket like this, if it will just make you look like a rambler – technical wear must be a statement. The bright, woody tone of the Cirque Jacket is a perfect balance of statement colour that doesn’t go too far. Topman and ASOS among others have picked up this trend in recent months, but if you are going to get involved, do so properly.
Not only is the Cirque trend setting, it’s useful; the Gore-Tex material makes it incredibly waterproof while also breathable and light, no-one sweaty has ever looked trendy! It also has hand-warming pockets and waterproof zips to keep everything dry. This piece needs to be worn prominently and with confidence, so pair it with skinny jeans, chinos or even chords and fairly hefty but stylish boots. Show a bit of thick knit boot sock to finalise your practical theme.
