There is no shortage of men’s graphic t-shirts on the market right now, however a lot of guys have trouble finding interesting options that you won’t see everyone else wearing. Enter Heretics; a new menswear brand focusing on graphic tees that differ from the norm. The brand have chosen the name Heretics because this title refers to anyone who does not conform to an established attitude, doctrine or principle – and that is exactly where they stand.
Shunning garish or comedic prints in favour of ‘elegant and naughty’ graphics, their tees feature risqué images of girls and corresponding text, which combine to create bold, striking statement pieces. For example, the ‘All about me’ tee features a bikini-clad girl holding a diamond gun to her head, with the slogan ‘It’s all about me’.
There is also a collaboration with an artist known as ‘Biro Man’, who has created three incredibly detailed designs using only biro pens (what an apt name). The Day of the Dead skull is particularly impressive, especially when considering the materials he uses.
The tees themselves are very reasonably priced, retailing at £25-£30, sitting somewhere between Topman and AllSaints. Heretics tees are all produced in the UK, a fact that the brand are very proud of.
The graphic t-shirt market is certainly saturated and full of tough competition, so anything that can set a brand apart from the rest will no doubt result in success. Heretics have a clear idea of what that ‘something’ is, and have created a range to reflect this.
