H&M: AW12 New Arrivals
Having Lana Del Rey as a model and collaborating with Anna Dello Russo (creative consultant and editor-at-large for Vogue Japan) are quite impressive notches to add to the H&M bed post. However, one thought keeps crossing my mind – what about the men?
Over the next few hundred words or so I’m going to take a look at what key pieces H&M have to offer us this autumn/winter – and the best part is, there will not be a stiletto or peplum in sight (I think)!
Starting with outerwear, you’re good to go with pretty much any style, so long as you have a warm jacket or coat. The Parka is back and looking more stylish than ever, and H&M just so happen to have a beautiful light brown version that is not only military inspired but also features a slight padded construction and faux fur lined hood – this piece couldn’t be more on trend if it tried.
For a suitable autumn palette, burgundy is always one of my go-to colours, and it seems the industry agrees this year. It’s dark enough to acknowledge that winter is on its way, but at the same time allows you to phase out the cornea-damaging colours you might have accumulated over summer and gradually introduce some winter hues. H&M are thankfully offering this shade in knitwear, hoodies and accessories galore!
Selecting key pieces to add to your collection should be easy enough with such a vast variety available. Plus we get to show them girls we don’t need no fancy editors or MTV award winners. Man points +1.
All clothing featured is available from the H&M website.
