Bright and simple would be the best two words to describe H&M’s new Season of Sun collection.
Since the sun has come out for most Britons, many of us would have tried to rummage through the forgotten draw of hot-weather clothes, and probably failed at finding anything suitable. But fret not, because as always, H&M have made all items under their latest high summer collection incredibly affordable, so you can pop down to your nearest store, update all your key pieces and still have money left over for an ice cream at the beach!
This latest collection is perhaps more inspired by the ocean as opposed to the sun, with many of the items come in a distinct variance of blue. First up to fit this ocean-colour scene are the short-sleeved shirts (£4.99). Season of Sun’s light and dark blue offerings make it easy for us to create effortless tonal outfits that are both on trend and easy to pull off. Pair these shirts with a white pair of shorts or trousers, or contrast them with a different shade of blue (as shown below).
A long sleeved shirt is part of the collection in light blue for £9.99 – but if you don’t want to look like a Caribbean wave, you can opt for raspberry red, orange or go back to basics with black and white.
A classic men’s wardrobe staple, the Breton tee is a centre piece of any successful summer wardrobe – H&M are offering their great take on it for a mere £2.99! An absolute bargain in my book. These can be paired nicely with some bright red or orange drawstring swim shorts (£7.99). Failing that, some classic cut shorts in a variety of bright colours can be bought for £12.99. If you don’t mind paying just that bit more, you can get checkered shorts for £14.99.
Last but not least, it’s worth stocking up on some bright tees if you don’t already have any. There are plenty of simple and stylish v-necks available to choose from within this collection.
