J Shoes Launches Bowden Boot
With all the madness of the jubilee and the fast approaching Olympics, it seems only right that fashion has become patriotic this season. If like us you are sick of the plethora of Union Jack themed products (seriously, is there anything they won’t stick it on) then you might be looking for a more subtle way to support both Queen and country.
The military looking ‘Bowden Boot’ is steeped in English heritage, through the innovative use of vintage army blankets. J shoes head designer Nick Dury sourced them all personally, with the initial aim of deigning a boot that would breathe new life into a redundant fabric. The clever use of the fabric is highlighted further with the use of contrast laces. Don’t worry, the soles have not been neglected either – produced in England with a helping hand from ‘Dainite’, whom have been making rubber soles since 1900.
All in all the Bowden Boot is a much more stylish way to support blighty’ this summer without looking like you raided a tourist shop. Plus, once the current wave of excitement fades, you can feel rest assured that the timeless design will outdate the flash-in-the-pan flag frenzy currently dominating fashion.
Wear with ankle sock and chino shorts this summer for a fashion forward look, and come the winter they will become a wardrobe staple with denim (and probably a cheeky roll up).
Only a small run of 200 pairs have been created and they are set to be released atjshoes.com and AUTHOR London imminently.
