Although they have 40 years experience within the industry, Scandinavian label Knowledge Cotton Apparel is a relatively unknown brand here in the UK. However, this is about to change in 2012, as my-wardrobe have added the brand to their list of ever expanding designer labels.
The family run business hails from the small town of Herning, Denmark, and they pride themselves on producing well-made, environmentally friendly clothing with their philosophy being: “Gain Knowledge. Take Action. Earn Respect.”
Proving their commitment and drive towards protecting the environment, the brand uses non-toxic dyes to colour wool, organically grown linen (that hasn’t used synthetic fertilisers) and polyester that has been produced using recycled plastic bottles!
As a regular reader, you should be well aware that here at FashionBeans HQ we are avid admirers of Scandinavian style. Clothing brands from the region tend to focus on high quality and practicality – two characteristics that help to create the effortless and often minimal aesthetic of the modern gentleman.
From the lookbook it is apparent that this collection follows these principles. The collection doesn’t bow to current trends, and instead is made up of classic and timeless pieces that can be mixed and matched effortlessly. This is a range which is versatile, adaptable and able to take you from season to season with confidence.
