Levi’s Made-To-Order Project
Ensuring that your denim is one of a kind and solely unique, masters of all things denim – Levi’s – are now offering their first ‘made to order’ jeans project. Understandably, the brand have decided to test the waters first, meaning that this particular project has only been debuted within their Meatpacking District store in New York City.
The project sees customers given the chance to design and customise a pair of bespoke jeans from scratch. Using the classic 501 style as a base, custom options include materials, fit and a variety of design details like thread colour and grommet type. The material offerings encompass 6 raw selvedge fabrics/washes and 8 sundries choices – meaning that these bespoke jeans will easily become your perfect everyday companion.
One factor that only furthers their appeal is that former designer-turned-master-tailor Ryan Grant-Hays will even keep your pattern on file, so if you ever want to order the same pair again at a future date, it can easily be replicated – brilliant!
With each pair being individually created by Grant-Hays himself and manufactured completely in-house, you can expect your jeans to be complete and ready for wear in approximately 2 weeks.
With prices ranging from $450 to $750, these certainly aren’t cheap. However, on the other hand, it’s worth noting that a high quality pair of jeans is a genuine investment, as they are built to last and are sure to stand the test of time. And for a pair which are this unique and customised to your individual taste – you’ve got to ask yourself: Can you afford not to have a pair of these in your wardrobe?
