Maharishi Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook
Shying away from tradition and normality; UK label Maharishi have chosen to utilise darker earth tones, which are more commonly associated with the colder autumn/winter months, to represent their new spring/summer 2012 collection.
Sticking to the qualities which the brand have become known for, Maharishi has produced a collection that – although not ground breaking – does represent a nice mix of both fuss-free, functional items and a series of more contemporary apparel.
Featured within the more contemporary garments is a range of outerwear pieces that have been constructed using a webbed type material. It is the same material that is frequently used to make military belts, packs and pouches for the British Army – as its lightweight and hard wearing nature is ideal for carrying around vital items whilst dealing with tough terrains and environments.
This webbing construction not only adds another dimension to the outerwear due to its texture, but by combining it with another material it alters the whole aesthetic of the garment. Due to its inherent lightweight construction it also means it is ideal for layering when the warmer months eventually roll around.
