We have not even managed to reach spring/summer yet and already designers are releasing advanced previews of their autumn/winter 2012 collections – the latest AW12 lookbook coming from Maison Kitsuné.
The upcoming autumn/winter range looks to stay true to Kitsuné’s Parisan roots, but also seems to simultaneously draw inspiration from quintessential British heritage style – with the incorporation of tweed clothing and Fair Isle patterns.
The collection overall is a well balanced range of both formal and more casual wear. It features timeless pieces such as knitwear, shirts and outerwear; some of which have been mixed together with sportier more urban items such as fingerless gloves and headwear; the caps included coming from the brands collaboration with headwear giant New Era.
Their is a primary focus on tailoring, fabric choice and colour, with all being carefully considered throughout. The majority of items benefit from a slim cut tailored finish, whilst the colour palette is muted and typically in line with the autumn/winter seasons – with just a splash of bold accent colours such as reds and blues to brighten up the dreary winter mornings.
Although not available for quite some time, it at least gives us something to look forward to next time the snow rolls around.
