Maison Martin Margiela Pre-Autumn Winter 2012 Accessories
For a lot of men – myself included – accessories are sometimes not given as much thought as the rest of their outfits. However, it is often these finishing touches that create fashion magic; accessories have the ability to make a good outfit great, but they also have to ability to ruin an otherwise nice look. With some careful consideration, and a less-is-more approach, you can make smart choices of accessories that attract the right kind of attention. On that note, the guys at Oki-Ni have just released Maison Martin Margiela’s pre-autumn/winter men’s accessories collection.
The MMM brand have released jewellery that plays on the theme of identity. For example, there are signet rings, necklaces and identity tagged bracelets, all of which feature leather detailing that replaces the areas that would normally be engraved with the wearer’s i.d. The colour scheme here is mainly black and silver, and chunky chains and links make for a more masculine take on jewellery for men. There is also a nice camel and silver bracelet for a point of difference.
Men’s jewellery is notoriously difficult to get right – and there is much debate on whether men should wear it or not – but with these timeless pieces it is easy to find something that represents your personality and adds a dash of character to a look in an effortless way.
As well as jewellery there are also some stylish wallets and belts, again in the black/camel and silver colour scheme. Every man needs a good wallet, and they can be real investment pieces. These Margiela versions will certainly stand the test of time and never go out of fashion.
