Marni at H&M Spring/Summer 2012 Campaign
Seeing as the highly anticipated collection went live worldwide this month, we thought it was only fitting to showcase the latest campaign imagery that accompanies Marni’s spring/summer 2012 collection at H&M.
The campaign, shot by Sofia Coppola in Morocco, sees the collection modelled by Imogen Poots, Liu Wen and Sam Hayes. The Moroccan backdrop for the collection couldn’t be more appropriate, with many of the garments (especially within the women’s collection) featuring African inspired prints. These playful and distinct prints are not only on trend for the coming season, but also a trademark of Marni’s unique design style.
In comparison to the womenswear, it seems as though the men’s collection has been refined and toned down for the campaign – with many of the outfits consisting of sophisticated tailoring and classic shirt and tie combinations.
Overall, the subdued campaign is a stark contrast to the bold lookbook imagery that also accompanies the collection. Nevertheless, it still represents the range wonderfully, showcasing a variety of garments that are easily wearable and interchangeable, without losing that inimitable Marni aesthetic.

Is this really a Sofia Coppola shooting?Because it looks like an amateur work. The scenario is perfect but some of the clothing and postures of the models aren’t. The look of the man looks like a classic American in Morocco…
