Marshall Artist Summer Capsule 2012 Collection
Since the turn of the twenty-first century, Marshall Artist have consistently provided fashion collections for contemporary men. They focus on simple clothing silhouettes that are brought bang up to date through modern detailing and cuts.
Their recent summer 2012 capsule collection maintains the brands signature style, although with a 1950s beach style twist.
The horizontal line pattern is a dominant theme within the t-shirt selection, particularly in the featured ‘Striped Boating Shirt’; coming in electric blue and red, the yarn-dyed stripes create a bold overall look that would suit any beach holiday. In addition, if worn with a pair of chic white jeans or linen trousers, this nautical inspired piece could help create a casual outfit that is just as appropriate for a summer boating holiday as it is shopping on your local high street.
Another stand out item from the collection is the hand printed, striped beachside swim short. The shorts have two large snap closure pockets attached, creating a relaxed but manly aesthetic. Coming in deep red or cool grey, you can make a choice between flamboyant or reserved.
Personally, my favorite item of the collection is the Military Field Shirt; its distressed cotton chambray material provides a vintage touch to one of the most popular shirt styles of last summer. The quality of the pearl snap buttons on the numerous pockets provides a touch of refined class, whilst the pockets themselves help give a relaxed form to the overall shirt – it’s safe to say that this item may be a recurring piece future Marshall Artist collections.
Overall, this Lookbook presents a wealth of stylish summer clothing with a definite focus on vintage beachwear – a throwback to the gentlemanly times of old, where real men strolled the promenade.
