Nixon Oxyde Collection – Spring 2012

Nixon have released their “Oxyde” collection for the spring/summer 2012 season. The brand have set out to create a line which has a vintage, almost rustic aesthetic; with the whole range undergoing oxidization techniques and processes in order achieve a unique distressed finish.

The Oxyde Collection features a range of accessories; including wallets, credit card holders, belts and an iPad case (which are all constructed from premium Horween leather in earth tones).

It wouldn’t be Nixon without the inclusion of watches, so also available are five specific watch styles:

1. The Sentry
2. The Time Teller
3. The Corporal
4. The Private
5. The Mellor

All of these timepieces are complemented by brushed steel bezels and dark luxurious leather straps.

We are sure this collection won’t be to everyone’s personal taste, with the oxidation and plated process producing a rustic and almost ‘worn out’ and ‘rusty’ look to every single watch face. However, here at FashionBeans we happen to love the vintage aesthetic, with the models offering an aged uniqueness that you just cannot find every day. Due to the techniques used to create this rustic effect, it also means no two watches will be identical – giving each model that sought after exclusivity.
