If you are a true FashionBeans fan, and regular reader, you will be well aware of our love affair with one of the best menswear designers and tailors in the business; Ozwald Boateng. With this in mind, it is our pleasure to proudly showcase his latest autumn/winter 2012 collection.
The AW12 collection, entitled ‘Migration’, is a range inspired by the fusion of Eastern and Western culture:
“The traditionally ‘black and white’ Japanese attitude towards clothing etiquette fascinates me. In modern society, migration between East and West has caused these elements to merge. Autumn/Winter 2012 combines facets of typical British Hunting Attire and a Japanese aesthetic story to create something new, something directional.”
The lookbook showcases a range which is somewhat classic and muted, featuring darker tones of black, grey and deep rich green in a variety of luxurious textures – including mohair and speckled wool. Although these shades are perfectly in keeping with the natural progression to the darker and colder months, some Ozwald Boateng fanatics may find the range a little too dark?
Even if the new collection is not as vibrant as we are used to seeing, Boateng has still managed to keep his brand recognisable through the cut and finish of these precisely tailored, clean lined garments. In fact, the whole range is the epitome of fine tailoring – proving that Ozwald Boateng is very much still on top of his game.
