Iconic outerwear brand Penfield have just released a look into their spring/summer 2012 collection, in the form of an interestingly shot lookbook.

The dynamic collection has been designed with an outdoor lifestyle in mind and seems to have been influenced by Penfield’s surroundings – the coastal towns of New England becoming a source of inspiration for the brand.

The collection includes various nautical inspired pieces as well as more subtle wardrobe staples; including classic shirting, knitwear, chinos and accessories to name a few.

Although the brand has continued to use designs and fabrics choices from their archive as inspiration – such as the 60/40 and Hudson Wax cloth – Penfield has managed to give pieces modernised twists through a manipulation of both colour and shape.

The collection is nicely tied together through its vibrant and seasonal colour palette, juxtaposing statement items such as the bold yellow Hudson Wax jacket with more toned down subtler pieces in pastel shades commonly associated with the summer season.

Overall, this collection is simple yet effective – allowing you to look effortlessly stylish this spring/summer.
