Percival Spring/Summer 12 Collection Overview
A colourful combination of fine detail and British quality workmanship brings three-year-old brand, Percival, to the FashionBeans spotlight this coming season.
Making their debut this spring season on retail outlet Urban Industry, Percival have chosen their reversible raincoat in yellow/blue (also in green/black) as the front image for their new lookbook. You can instantly recognise the fine detail and precision that this smart piece provides. Depending on what you want to match with the coat – or what mood you find yourself in – this slim fitted garment is built to protect you from the ever unreliable British weather. Possessing PU coated microfibre and a waterproof outer lining, I need say no more.
The Percival Breton Shirt is a clever, timeless design. Complete with either red or blue detailing, and featuring a white background, the shirt matches brilliantly with any jacket or pair of jeans in the collection. The quirky styled collar and cuffs gives the impression that – with a bit of imagination – it looks more like a polo shirt under a jumper than a combined number. Just one example of the time and thought placed in each of these garments.
The word ‘Festival’ instantly springs excitement in my mind. We all can’t help getting that little bit carried away in terms of clothing – bearing shorts, sunglasses and a t-shirt at the instant glimpse of a blue, sunny sky. The Percival Waterproof Trench Festival Mac Jacket helps remind us that it tends to rain a lot in the summer, and many may be grateful after purchasing this item. It is a well constructed overcoat with beach striped half lining, wooden buttons and PU coated microfibre. The stripy design on the inside of this jacket certainly is an attractive addition; available in either navy or green.
The final number in Percivals’s collection – and quite possibly my favourite – is the Waterproof Spy Jacket in Navy. A unique take on the classic wax jacket that is so popular today, it is made from drywax and features a tan twill collar and cord trim on the pockets. The fine pinstripe design on the inside shows the high attention to detail and English heritage that has gone into the construction of this jacket. Grey chinos would accompany this item brilliantly.
