London chain store; Rokit clothing has launched a compilation of items under the label ‘Russian Rococo’. This unique collection is available in store and online, and is created entirely from vintage items that Rokit has collected.
Overall, the theme of the range plays heavily on some of autumn/winter’s key trends. Consisting of a wide range of colours from the dark end of the pantone chart – burgundy, black and chocolate brown in particular – the palette is emphasised further through the choice of material. On trend faux furs and leather are completed with beautiful silk cravats and gold or beaded accessories to create a sense of luxury and opulence.
Admittedly, I try to steer clear of such ostentatious jewellery during autumn/winter, however, with gold featuring prominently within the eighteenth century Rococo artistic movement, it only serves to enhance the distinct aesthetic created by the vintage pieces.
Marrying the sense of luxury associated with traditional Russian fashion with the exquisiteness of the 1700s, this is a superb capsule collection for those looking for unique, individual pieces that are full of character. As there is usually only one of each item in stock at any one time, if you’re going to invest with Rokit – do it all at once!
Rokit chains can be found on Brick lane, in Camden and Covent Garden, London.
