Rum Knuckles Clothing
Glaswegian born street artist RUGMAN, founder of Rum Knuckles, a graffiti art brand based in Hackney, East London has recently released his own street art clothing collection.
The brand’s name was actually adopted from RUGMAN’s uncle. A boxer for the Navy as well as a thoughtful ladies man and well-dressed gent, late uncle Rum Knuckles provides inspiration for the artist in terms of both art and lifestyle.
An official launch party for the collection was recently held, which saw RUGMAN’s latest work on display at The Circle Tattoo Studio in London’s SOHO. DJ Pete Evens provided entertainment throughout the evening, whilst the busy turnout of guests drank beer and Knuckles’ trademark Rum.
The new clothing range was extremely well received by all the attendees. This was not surprising, as there are a wealth of interesting and unique designs within the collection, each of which provide a true avant garde appeal – going to show how street art can make a seamless transition to street wear.
The majority of the designs within the collection come direct from RUGMAN’s archive of art prints. One of the stand out styles for the team here at FashionBeans is the simple but effective “Live Fast” design, which displays a large, all-seeing Illuminati eye across the chest. The eye has traditionally provoked mass conspiracy throughout society and is seen as a threatening but challenging logo – it now seems to be creeping its way into the fashion world.
The full collection is available to buy now over on the Rum Knuckles website.
